The project"Post Truth? Countering Disinformation Narratives" engages with challenges of the post-truth era focusing on the growing problem of disinformation and fake news and how it could be countered through critical thinking, media literacy and other creative strategies. Through artistic expressions and collaborative engagement, the project challenges the surface of things and question the narratives we are told. By generating discussions, fostering empathy, and promoting a sense of community, the project hopes to contribute to building a more informed and resilient society that can withstand the impact of disinformation and manipulation. During 2023, the project took form in a series of transdisciplinary collaborative residencies, workshops and other public events bringing together artists, researchers, activists, and community members in four collective spaces: in Ukraine, Germany, Poland and France and among all, we aim to generate a community across borders, acting on exploring in-depth such issues, questioning assumptions, and building solidarity in the struggle for truth and justice. This project has been initiated by Lernlabor and its civil society partners in Ukraine, Poland and France and the process will be guided and curated by Seila Fernández Arconada. We have shared all the process and results of all residencies on this website. Results will be presented in each of the countries involved. A final event of the project took place in Berlin in December 2023.
