OPEN CALL  for Ukrainian artists, researchers, activists and community members interested to explore the topic of Post Truth are welcome to join this experimental Art residency. 

When: 11-18 June, 2023
Where: Kyiv, Ukraine 

"Post Truth? Countering Disinformation Narratives" is a transdisciplinary program aimed at addressing the issue of disinformation and fake news in “post-truth era”, particularly in the context of the ongoing Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The process will be curated by Seila Fernandez Arconada.

During this time we will learn from the topic, local initiatives and experts on the theme as well as form each other. The aim of this gathering is to collaborate with each other as well as have some results including artistic projects as a result of collective reflections and tools to further look for truth from our local and international realities. 

Objectives
-  to investigate the subject of post-truth, counter fake narratives and build solidarity in the struggle for truth and justice
- to enhance critical thinking and media literacy skills through artistic expressions and collaborative engagement
- to learn from the topic, local initiatives and experts
- to cooperate with each other and produce artistic projects + tools to counter disinformation and seek truth in local and international realities

Participant’s profile:
⁃ Aged 18+
⁃ currently live in Kyiv region or Poltava region
⁃ with at least intermediate level of English 
⁃ being present for the whole residency
⁃ being interested in the topic and committed to collaborate with other participants to create some artwork as result
⁃ being a practitioner in arts or other fields connected to the topic (required)

Finance:
- Meals, logistics and materials will be fully covered.
- Accommodation will be covered and travel costs will be reimbursed (for non-Kyiv city residents only). This opportunity is only for residents of Kyiv and Poltava region.
- A safe and inspiring space to learn and act together will be provided.
